P90X/Insanity Hybrid: Day 10 (Shoulders and Arms-Merciless Abs)

I was talking with a friend via text message in between exercises tonight, and at one point I told her, “My arms are so sore that I can barely type” Her response was a frowning emoticon. At first I thought nothing of it. Then later on I realized my reaction to the pain was nowhere near hers: I was GLAD I was feeling it because it meant my muscles were really working, and they would have something to recover from later on.

To some of you who have been fairly confident for your entire lives this might not seem like a big deal, but it amazes me how my ability to face tasks that once seemed daunting has grown in the past year. At some point I would like to sit down and read up about the connection between physical and mental fitness…how the former can be responsible for an increase in the latter.

If anyone knows of any articles that study this, please contact me!

About Steve Grogan

I am 40 years old, divorced, and a father of four kids. I am a practitioner of a self-defense system called wing chun kung fu. My other hobbies include writing, playing guitar, reading, watching movies, and listening to music. Recently I have gotten back into fitness, and this time I am DETERMINED to get the washboard abs...whether my metabolism will cooperate with me or not! The purpose of this blog is to write not only about my hobbies, but also about whatever crosses my mind, whether it is something I don't understand or something that aggravates me. So join me as I indulge my tendency to think too much about topics that don't usually cross anyone else's mind!
