Entering into the third phase of yet another hybrid! Whenever I start a new round, it feels like it will take forever to end, but then when I am this far into it, I always wonder where my time went!
On Thursday night I brought Fountain of Youth to Vanderheyden, but I just couldn’t finish it for two reasons: (1) one of the kids was still up and wandering around, and (2) I had brought several notebooks full of old writing to work with the intention of going over them to see what stories were worth keeping and what ones should be just tossed. (This was a project I had started earlier in the day because my office is a crowded mess, and it’s the one room in the house I can make changes to where Diana doesn’t get mad at me!) So I hate to say it, but my yoga routine bit the dust before I was even halfway through.
On Saturday morning I did Ab Ripper X around 3:30. It was one of those things where I did it just to get it done, and I wasn’t pleased with myself by the time it was through. For the rest of the day I found myself falling in and out of sleep. Normally I get out of that overnight shift and I can keep going strong, but today the energy just wasn’t there. Somehow I managed to pull myself together and did Chest and Back (although Dive Bomber Push-ups are still my enemy!). During the cool down phase I said to Diana, “I don’t know where I found the energy to do the workout. That’s good, but it’s not enough. Going through the motions won’t get you results. I have to dig deeper so I can PUSH myself. That way I get more of a burn and better results…but I haven’t found the trick to pushing myself to that next level yet!”
