We all know martial arts day is my favorite day! This was no exception. I did a bit of sil lum tao and chum kiu to replace some of the warm-up routine, then tore through it as usual.
Speaking of wing chun, I got some awesome tips from Sifu on Tuesday night about improving my chum kiu. That will prove invalueable, as I really believe getting that form better will take me to the next level. In the first form (sil lum tao), all you do is stand still and go through wing chun’s major hand motions. However, in chum kiu you learn to pivot, kick, step and use the mechanics of your body in motion to generate real power.
