Ultimate Reset: Week 1 in Review

I started out wondering how something as small as two scrambled eggs, two pieces of toast and some steamed kale or spinach could fill me up. Worry set in that I wouldn’t be able to do this…that I spent all this money on the Reset box and the groceries for nothing…but I had to go ahead with it anyway. After all, I’d bought the program. It would be foolish to not give it a chance.

I was pleasantly surprised. The breakfast easily kept me full enough until lunch time came. It was the same story with lunch. After that, my second biggest concern was dinner. I was scheduled to eat it around 5:00pm, but I am always up until at least 9:00pm. (I work until 8:30, get home, relax and spend time with the wife.) Once again, the Reset didn’t let me down: I wasn’t hungry until the next day.

Day 2 was rough for me because I had to be up at 6:00am to go to the CDL School. Luckily it was my last day: I had my road test, and I passed! Then I came home, started doing the supplements and meals…and that was when the fatigue and headache set in. I will be honest: my first gut reaction was to pop the Advil. I wound up turning in a request to leave work early.

Day 3: The torment wasn’t over. I had to get up at 6:00am yet AGAIN because my son had a doctor’s appointment. So I said, “You know what? I am going to go in late.” I got marked with an unscheduled tardy, but what do I care? My notice is in, and I am gone on November 7!!!

Day 4: I went to work feeling the same way, sluggish and fatigued. However, around 4:00pm my headache just broke. Things just magically turned around. Suddenly, I felt like I could handle anything.

The rest of the week has just been getting better and better. For evidence of that, just look to my blog about day 6. Here we are at the tail end of day 7, and I find myself wishing it was tomorrow morning already.

Let me interject here and show my accountability by saying I did have a few moments of weakness. I had maybe three cups of coffee this week, as well as some Arizona Diet Green Tea. That’s all right though: my goal going forward is to have no more slips for the next two weeks.

Next week, there is a new supplement added to the mix (Detox). Also, I have a fruit platter for breakfast almost every morning. I can’t wait!

Love your honesty and review! I thought it was funny how you mentioned that you didn’t think that the eggs, veggies and toast wouldn’t fill you up because it is a main reason why some people over eat because they think they need more. Glad that you gave it a try and see for yourself that eating some of the right foods in the right portions can do the trick!

Great Accountability! I think I may try this right after the holidays!

  3. Great blog! I did the Reset back in July, and I loved what I learned about my body, my eating habits and my own internal blocks to change. Good for you making it through the first week! Can’t wait to hear how you do with the rest of the program.
